Style Profile: Michelle Obama

A style heavy hitter. Where do we begin? There is a reason she has graced the cover of Vogue on at least three occasions. We wish she had been on our radar during her law career, to see more of her styles, but her armoire since becoming a public figure is more than enough to draw inspiration from. Her style is only matched by her intelligence, grace, and warmth. Her daughters are lucky to call her mom and to have access to her wardrobe. She always looks so put together and effortlessly elegant without trying too hard, although she has acknowledged the capable team behind her. We see vestiges of her legal career as she dons long slacks and airy dresses, which she has a tendency to go for. She successfully showcased American fashion all around the world around while still incorporating some affordable pieces. She and her family might as well have walked off the pages of a J Crew catalogue. Her wardrobe is full of classy dresses and cardigans. Her sleeveless dresses even became a part her brand and motivated some of us to spend a little more time weightlifting. Her fashion continues to evolve, and we’ve seen bolder looks from her, such as bedazzled knee-high boots and a luscious yellow silk pant set. We look forward to what this decade for her brings sartorially.
